We Ride by Harley Davidson is for woman - to help them get a handle on riding and show them the way to make their Harley dream come true. Photo by Rori Paul, used courtesy of Harley Davidson.
As you may already know, I want to learn to ride motorcycles and get a Harley Davidson. Check out my recent article – Harley-Davidson; Ladies start the adventure and let your inner-kid hit the highways – and you’ll see how Assistant Laura & I have talked about it, don’t have the bucks – we’re not in the “have money” demographics right now – but that we are in Harley’s’ newest target group: women.
So, a couple weeks back, on one of those evenings when I was just done with work and still couldn’t put the computer away, I pulled up the Harley Davidson site and took a look – again – at the new Super Low ride they’ve put out with ladies & newbies like us in mind.
Love this bike – well, at least in pictures.
And while I’ve gotten their emails about it, I hadn’t yet looked at the women’s area they set up or really spent some time wondering around. I was exhausted, so didn’t stay long, but did see you could order – for free – a booklet about women & Harley’s. Hey, I’m up for reading, so I put in my order and forgot about it. (You can also download a copy or pick it up at the local dealer)
We Ride
Then the mail arrived today and in it, a big manila envelope with my We Ride inside. Dude – or Dudettes – this is the booklet made for us. It’s all about woman riders. Cool.
I fanned through before dinner, then sat with it some after. And I was enthralled. I’ll spend more time with it – I’ll settle in and take time to really read each section. And more than likely, I’ll highlight parts – and when we’re ready for our first buy – it’ll be coming with.
We Ride is written for women. From the half dozen or so women who share their Harley stories to how to go about buying one, this booklet takes away the guess work, the fear, and the uncertainty I’m betting more of us have than any of us would like to admit.

With information ranging from set up to clothes, bikes to lessons, We Ride is an outstanding resource to answer your questions & take away the uncertainty. Photo by Rori Paul Used courtesy of Harley Davidson.
The women range in age; Carol is 54, Afsoon is 32, Lisa & I are both 43, Kathie is 48. They also range in rides. From the 2006 Softail® Deluxe to a 2007 Fat Boy®, from the 2003 Screamin’ Eagle® Duece to 2006 Dyna® Super Glide®, these women are riding them all.
Learn from the best
Sure it’s a sale pitch – heck, they’re in it to make money, no surprises there. But it’s a great way to go about it. By taking away the mystery and the elements of fear, Harley is showing women how they can make the experience their own, take away the questions by giving the answers, make riding and owning reachable, and showing ladies what others like them went through to get there – and what they’re doing now that the goal is reached.
Harley has opened a whole new open road to women.
Find Your Ride talks about the various Harley’s out there and what they’re about and how they work, offering pictures and explanations. Find out about the New Rider Course offered by Harley – what you’ll need to bring and how you can go about learning to ride. Get a grip on how a motorcycle works before you make the investment.
Learn about custom tailoring your Harley to your body and riding needs. From foot and hand placement to how the bike looks & rides, you can not only make it your own in style, but in comfort – and in turn, safety.
Get in gear – learn the different types of gear you’ll need or want – from helmets to gloves and so on – and get the inside scoop on what you’ve got to know to make it an enjoyable and comfortable ride.
Get a ride
Owning a Harley may have been a dream all these years girls – or maybe you’re wanting to move into the driver’s seat. Whatever your thoughts on a HOG, We Ride will help you make the decision.
Ok, so for many of us, money is still an issue. But even in this booklet they mention – you can finance, that you should think about all the extras, and even rent for awhile as you learn and figure out what it is you want. Too cool is the rule here.
So hit the Internet, check out Harley Davidson, and order your copy of We Ride.

Give yourself the gift of knowledge, and perhaps soon – the gift of the freedom and adventure of owning and riding Harley Davidson.
Happy Harley Highways…
Thanks to Harley Davidson for being supportive of this blog & for not only providing me photos to use for some articles, but allowing me to use my own as well.
