Bahama Breeze, known for its island feel and smooth tropical tastes, has announced a new lineup of island inspired cocktails just in time for summer. “Legendary Island Cocktails” blend the exotic with the tasty and come up with “the next best thing to being there.”

“Bahama Breeze is known for its hand-crafted tropical drinks and adding Legendary Island Cocktails to our extensive bar menu is a great next step in the Caribbean escape experience,” says Peter Olsacher, Executive Chef for Bahama Breeze. “I personally visited many of these exotic locations to learn more about their storied histories. Bahama Breeze was among the first restaurants to introduce the Mojito Cubano and Brazilian Caipirinha cocktails to mainstream America, and now we can’t wait to continue that tradition by introducing new Legendary Island Cocktails and their stories each quarter.”

Among the list of island charmers: The Original Daiquiri, believed to once be a late 1880′s medical treatment that soon found fame among many islander fans such as Hemingway. This daiquiri is hand-shaken, not blended, and served tall.

The Dark ‘N Stormy sounds like a fun and mysterious delight, its back-story that of a bartender who poured a glass of ginger beer, leaving out the rum until he remembered. After adding the rum and seeing it floating on top, the sailor for which the drink was poured remarked that it looks like a storm cloud over the ocean.

The Havana Hotel Special is the signature drink at the five-star Hotel Nacional in Havana. For over 80 years the hotel has been “teh destination”  to see and be seen in, with folk from Churchill to Sinatra stopping by. This pineapple punch is made with Bacardi Superior Rum, pineapple and fresh lemon juice with a splash of DeKyyper apricot brandy. A drink fit for a P.M. or singer.

With other names like Batida de Coco, the Goombay Smash and Barbados Run Punch you’re sure to find plenty to taste at Bahama Breeze this summer, so trip the light fandango and slip into something special, then head over to the islands of Bahama Breeze to enjoy a tropical drink that makes you feel like you’re in the tropics, wherever you are…
