ThunderShirt, the body wrap that helps dogs deal with anxiety and stressful events, has introduced a new polo for the stylish pet. All kidding and fashion aside, this is a nice looking piece and from extensive “personal” experince by our dog, Jake, it seems the folks at Thunder Shirt have done it again.
We have not tried this particular outfit, but if it is anything like the original, and it looks like it only with “style,” your dog will surely find themselves feeling stress relief with a little class.
We’ve used ours for Jake mostly with thunder storms. We knew we had to try it after we’d learned from a seminar with Linda Tellington Jones we’d attended for our German Shepard, Bailey, that wrapping your scared dog in a t-shirt would help. We got one of dad’s old t-shirts and tied it on for every storm. It worked great.
We lost Bailey a few years ago, and did try a regular t-shirt with Jake, but 1) it didn’t fit him as well and 2) we were able to do a product review with a sample of the ThunderShirt.
We were sold.
The day it arrived last year a storm rolled through. I didn’t even take the suggested time to ease him into it before a storm, since the one coming promised to be good sized. In the end I recall it not being bad, but the shirt worked, as it did on many future storms.
We have tried it on him for travel and so far it has worked. We’ve not yet taken anything too terribly long, but have a trip to the Florida Keys & Key West coming up. With an 11 year old dog who get a bit car sick and a 7 hour drive, I promise you, he’ll be in his!
No worries, he won’t mind the “original” version and not being so stylish with the new polo, but they are nice to look at.
