Begin your Babcock Wilderness Adventure in an area reminiscent of
a Florida cowboy camp. From a small museum to the gift shop to
a BBQ shake, you’ll start or end your adventure like a real Florida cowboy -
a Florida Cracker.
The small museum has examples of ancient tools, made from whatever
was handy, including shells.
The Sean Connery film, Just Cause, was filmed in part
on the ranch among the swamps that are part of the
vast wilderness area.
Meet Lulu, the 3 horned cow.
Once a resident at Babcock, Lulu is now but a memory, and mounting,
she was mom to many offspring. her 3 horns were never thrown to
her progeny.
The gift shop offers many items to remind
you of your day or help you learn more about
Florida’s unique flora and fauna.
Board your bus and embark on a journey through
a real, working Florida ranch. Cattle to sod are grown among
the swamps, prairies, and fields of this beautiful part
of Southwestern Florida.
Ever want to see a Florida gator in its natural
environment? You are going to see plenty at Babcock.
From wee-ones to big daddies, there are
gators everywhere. You’ll get up close & personal -
well, not too up close!
But you will get to meet a baby gator
And see some baby cows.

time. She comes running when the bus comes through
Ride through the swamps and peer deep into the rich
growth all around.

This handsome girl was confiscated by the state from people
not licensed to own her. She and her brother
have lived out their lives in privacy and a natural setting,
in part to teach about their habitat, and in part
to allow them some kind of peaceful life.
Birds, gators and cows live peacefully,
