Give Me 5; 2011 photos of Florida
I tried to think of a way to cap off 2011 that would say what being a travel writer and blogger here in Florida has meant to me. Frankly, it was a hard thing to do. I’ve already erased the article more than once… and it occurred to me that while so much has happened to reflect and remember, perhaps sharing 5 images of the year would show you why I love Florida, why I love writing, and why I love sharing these things with you.
We do this because we want to help you with your plans for a Florida vacation. That you might enjoy your time off and find a place in Florida that can be as personal to you and make as many wonderful memories as I have had over the years of vacations here.
So here then, 5 photos of places that I love in Florida. An inspiration, I hope, to help you and yours discover the beauty and variety there is here… Happy New Year and maybe 2012 be filled with many wonderful new memories and the experiences that make them!
We love Epcot’s International Wine & Food Festival.
We love Epcot.
From the walks we take around the lake to the rides
that immerse you into a new country or something dreamed for
tomorrow, Epcot is like an adult playground, and
Wine & Food is our yearly prom.

Traveling with dogs.
We love it.
We lost Abby (grey) this year after an illness.
She loved riding in the car and going places and I still
ache for her. But Jake continues the tradition.
He’s no always been the best car-rider, but
his Thundershirt helps and he loves being with us.

We went SUPing and loved it.
SUP Eco Adventures had us out to try this great
“new” sport, showing is the lovely east coast waterways and
letting us get our feet wet (so to speak) doing this
healthy, fun, and peaceful sport.

We played paintball.
Have never done it before, but we were invited to try at
Orlando Paintball by friends. It was a blast and we’d love to play
again. For locals or visitors a like, try your skills and
have some seriously high action fun!

I “discovered” a wonderful haven in Florida
when I was invited to Charlotte Harbor this fall.
I’d wanted to see the area and as expected, fell in love. This is
a beautiful part of Florida with the Gulf coast,
the small towns and the natural elements.
I deeply fell in love when we took a kayak tour with Grande Tours
along the waterways, spying dolphins, cruising the mangroves,
and simply enjoying the peace.
