The quaint little lakeside town known for outdoor activities, dining, shopping, and sweet B&B’s and Inns offers up another reason to take the 45 minute drive from Orlando: the new Farmers Market sponsored by Visit Mount Dora. Every Sunday visitors can shop for fresh produce along side herbs, crafts and a growing range of products.

The newest offering on the Mount Dora palate, the Farmers Market is currently hosted on the property of the lovely and historic Lakeside Inn, with sweeping views of Lake Dora and a harkening to another time and place. And as Farmers Markets return to our consciousness, just as Grandma and Grandpa once shopped at the local farm, the setting is perfect for a Sunday in the Florida countryside.

The Farmers Market runs every Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Lakeside Inn at 3rd Street. Enter the Lakeside’s vast property, stroll, take in the lake, and enjoy the Market on the tennis courts. Pastry and coffee is offered by Lakeside Inn and a growing range of vendors are offering a number of purchase opportunities.

Following your Market shopping, linger in town for dining, more shopping, meeting up with friends and making new ones, and if the fancy strikes, stay for another day in one of the town’s B&B’s, Inns such as the Lakeside Inn or cottages.

** Please note the Farmers Market will NOT operate on October 23rd as the 27th Annual Mount Dora Craft Fair will take over the streets of Mount Dora for even more fun!
