GoPro; Make professional like photos, video of your active lifestyle, surfing, SUP, kayaking, snowboarding and more

GoPro is it. It’s the way you can take your active lifestyle to another level. No more are you watching others and their exploits, but you’re in the action and bringing us along for the ride. We discovered this really cool product at Surf Expo and cannot wait to be able to add it to our gear.

Imagine skateboarding, surfing, water skiing, snowboarding, SUPing, or any kind of sporting activity and having a camera right there in the middle of the action.

You’ve seen the action shots: NASCAR, IZOD INDY Car, biking, surfing, movies, TV, and all over the Internet. Those are the pros though, right? Right. But now you don’t have to sit on the sidelines of sharing the action; you’ve got the means to do your own.

GoPro is priced so most anyone can do it – though when you’re on a budget like we are, you might have to add it to the “want-list.” Packages can be bought with all the hear in one or buy as you need with mounts such as the Helmet Front Mont (currently listed $12.99 msrp), Surf HERO Mounting Kit (currently $19.99 msrp), or the Chest Mount Harness (currently listed at $39.99 msrp). One of the cooler additions: the 3D HERO system (currently $99.99 msrp) that lets you create 3D footage of your adventures.

Imagine it; you’re on vacation and instead of the “family standing on shore getting photos and video of you way off on the water surfing” shots,” you can have the camera right there, on the board or on your wrist taking video of the action – right in the middle of the action.

So cool.

Surf Expo is an industry show, so the buyers are there to grab up the latest products that will end up on the store shelves. The GoPro folks were also giving away a free, complete kit each day. We entered and sadly, did not win. At the time I wasn’t all the disappointed – heck, this is for teens and 20somethings who do those crazy, adrenaline X-sports kinda things.

But the more I thought about it, the more I looked over their materials and website, the more I was disappointed and the higher the cameras have crept up my want list. I was thinking about how we’re working to show you the beauty of Florida, the water-sports, the places we love, even the highways – yea, disappointed. Can you imagine seeing all that and helping you discover even more of Florida?

So it’s on our list and it should be on yours as well. Bring the action into your living room and prove you’ve got the movie metal.
