We love sharing places for you to try on your next Florida getaway or vacation. We love the places everyone knows about (Walt Disney World, Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens Tampa), but there are so blasted many places around Florida where you can have fun, be a kid, see old Florida, enjoy the beauty of this amazing Sunshine State.

So here are 5 places you may not have ever heard of and they are ready to share more of Florida…
Giraffe Ranch. my buddy Ben of adventureswithben.com told me about this place and we’ve talked about it on Florida Travel Cocktail. As an animal lover this sounds like such a cool place. Located 45 minutes north of Tampa and home to giraffe, zebra, and a herd of Austrian Hafinger horses, plus a lot more, you’re going to find something for every animal lover in your family.Reservations are required.
National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum. We all know of the SEALS, that super elite group of guys who’ve been the stars of movies and more importantly, the stars of a lot of very important military operations. The museum honoring these heroes is located right here in the Sunshine State.
Dolphin Research Center. DRC is located in the heart of the Florida Keys and is home to TV & films’ original “Flipper.” No longer a TV training camp, this facility is home to a pod of dolphins (and group of sea-lions) who are living out their lives here. “Research” isn’t just a word in the name, but a real part of what goes on here. So is education – and fun!
Billie Swamp Safari. Set along the natural stretch of Florida’s west-Gulf coast, this looks like some serious fun. Get into Florida’s wild side on the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation and discover a part of Florida that remains rural, wild, natural, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Florida Lighthouses. Not one but many will draw you in, part of Florida’s maritime past and a touch of history that still brings the romance of the sea to shore. Lighthouses grace the rocks and beaches from throughout Florida’s coast, many open to the public, and some with ghosts so plentiful they open up for Ghost Hunting.
