Wyland Galleries Florida; Late summer, fall shows let you meet Dan Mackin, Jim Warren, other great artists, buy Disney, Ocean-theme art

Wyland Galleries of Florida, set perfectly within the Walt Disney World Resort’s Polynesian and Boardwalk Resorts, offer up a series of Artist Gallery Shows this late summer and fall. Dan Mackin’s graceful, fanciful, and lush tropics along with Jim Warren’s playful, fun and deeply rich Disney-spired themes dance as elegantly together as they do in this setting.
Along with Luis Sottil and Cris Woloszak, the artists will be on hand to demonstrate their talents, sign art, and take photos.
We’ve had the great pleasure of attending a number of Wyland Galleries of Florida shows (including the yearly shows featuring namesake, Wyland) and from firsthand experience know these are great opportunities to meet some extremely talented men. Not only talented, but genuinely nice.
We love Dan’s warm smile and deeply touching good nature, reflected as easy in his colorful, almost-feel-like-you’re-there art. Hide behind a lush, green bush, watch a playful dolphin leap in crystal blue waters or the moon dip into the waters. Perhaps sit along the sand and admire nature’s conch, then walk along the historic and lively South Beach. These are but a few of Dan’s creations.

Jim is as mysterious as his works. A shy man – at least to “strangers” – one is always guessing and staring at one of his works. Mickey, Minnie and the gang are always at play, but the paintings themselves create the worlds parallel and crossing that they’re playing in. A walk along the shore as easy as can be, dashed with dripping paint from an overhead hand, ripping through the canvas… always fun, always interesting, always drawing you in as if you’re as much a part of the image as that intrusive, yet meant-to-be hand.
