SeaSpecs; Sunglasses for water-sports, extreme sports and every day living

My SeaSpecs arrived in this nice carrying case - I use them so much, they've never been back in it. Photo Rori Paul

I’ll admit it; I haven’t given my SeaSpecs a full-out run, yet. I will. We’re getting there. In a few weeks we’re doing a surf lesson at Ron Jon Surf School as part of the Indo Board Challenge. Better believe my SeaSpecs are going to be there for that.

In the mean time, I’ve worn them to SUP, worn them for work – out traveling Florida – worn them to walk the dogs, and worn them to just enjoy a weekend out.

I love them!

My 1st day out I forgot the strap, pulling my head at least a half dozen times. I got over it and now get them on and off and comfy with ease. Photo Rori Paul

SeaSpecs
I saw the SeaSpecs first on Facebook and some other online ad. Being as I’m always on the lookout for good products to potentially try and tell you about, I got a hold of the folks at SeaSpecs and asked if they’d be interested. They were, sent me a pair of their Jet Specs and off we went.

We’re just now getting our water-sports coverage going to another level and I’ve only just now hit the SUP thing on Mullet Creek, so I’ve not given them that all-out testing yet, but everything I’ve found, experienced and discovered about these sunglasses screams awesome!

Yep, I got a pair for free, but I’ve also got them on the list – top of the list – to buy more. In fact, we’re going to (hopefully) take advantage of a Buy 2 – Get One Free sale and already Laura and I each have our pairs picked out.

Currently listed at $49.95 (as of this writing) we’re more than impressed with what you get for the money.

I was really looking forward to this day on the water SUPing. The SeaSpecs didn't get huge workout, but they were comfy, easy to use and made the hot day in the sun enjoyable. I even let our guide, Dina, try them and she too loved them. Photo Rori Paul

I bought a $150.00 pair of glasses once, a brand name, and for a month I wore them, I found them too often uncomfortable, and they’d start to rub my ears painfully. They’d get steamed from sweat, which sunglasses can, but then they’d rub and wear so painfully. I stopped wearing them. Those same sunglasses are now sitting on my desk awaiting my courage to throw them out – the ear rubber has come off them – I’ve only worn them twice more since I stopped. Total time I actually wore them? Maybe a month. Oh, and I bought them like 6 years ago – that’s how much I didn’t wear them!

In the two months I’ve had my SeaSpecs I’ve worn them a lot – except those few times I forgot them in the house – and I am so happy with every experience.

The Details
Created for those who are active and leading a lifestyle with such passions as surfing, SUPing, wakeboarding, snowboarding and many other sporting activities, SeaSpecs get a workout. To that end, they feature a strap one wears around the head, easily adjusted to tighten or loosen, whichever you need.

After the first dozen or so times forgetting it was tightened and strangling my head, I got into the groove and now get them on and off with ease.

They’re lite, easy to use, and make seeing – even in our Florida brilliance – a joy.

While SUPing at SUP Eco Adventures, Dina (our host) and I talked a bit about my SeaSpecs and I let her try them on. I’m pretty sure I sold a pair.

These sunglasses are truly lite – I mean you don’t feel them. They sit comfy on your face and when you need to “worry” about them, you don’t. That strap keeps them comfortably and easily in place.

The only ‘problem’ I’ve faced is that sweating thing. It gets hot here and when I sweat, I sweat. Frankly I’ve fogged sunglasses all my life. That said, the SeaSpecs never truly fogged. My sweat dripped down them, but they never fogged. Sure my face was hot, but I could always see.

I was surprised, yet when you check ‘em out, notice those little holes – vents. They work! No fog!

The $150.00 brand named pair I had, I’d have to take off all the time and wipe off. Drove me nuts!

My SeaSpecs, not once.

Created for action, the SeaSpecs are a great pair of Sunglasses. For me, I wear them everyday, but can't wait for all those water-sports. I will now feel very confident in having my sunglasses on when I need them most. Photo Rori Paul

I haven’t tried out the floating thing yet – I didn’t want to loose them in the ocean or Mullet Creek. But I’m betting you’re going to be ok. Besides, how are you going to loose them with that strap on!

In The End
I’m going to buy more. Yep, this pair was free for me to review, but Laura and I are trying to get the into and higher up in the budget!

They’re lightweight, easy to use, extremely comfortable and look good. My pudgy cheeks give me a little of a bug-like-look, but I’m fine with it in exchange for the comfort and ease of the SeaSpecs.

(* yes, you can get prescriptions)

Bottom-line
I’m working to rebuild my active lifestyle and have sensitive eyes. This is Florida. Without question, knowing that my sunglasses are comfortable and going to see me through makes being active easier. SeaSpecs will be my sunglasses of choice from here on out.

*** Watch for us wearing them and more coverage when we really put them to the test!
