As you know, we moved to the Orlando, Florida area from Phoenix, Arizona this year. We’re from Illinois (or as we from Northern Illinois say, we’re from Chicago), but life took us to the Sunshine State. Hey, if you’ve got to go somewhere…
For our move, we rented a Penske, and while we were given a media rate (please read my disclosure article )we would have rented one anyway. Based on our research, it was our best option, and in the end, that’s what played out.
For a blow by blow article please take a look at my accompanying article for a detailed rundown of the experience and why we not only liked it, but recommend Penske.
But I’m sharing here the down-to-basics of it all. In the end, we are very comfortable putting our names behind recommending Penske for your next truck rental.
Customer Service: A -
Based on each of the times we needed to communicate with Penske, I can’t give them anything but an A. However, the minus comes from the drop off and I have to deduct for that. Again, if we’d started there, they would have lost us. We started on a great foot, had great experiences in between, and just the final moments were a pain in the rear. And I hate that I had to leave my new friend, Big Yellow, there. You get to trust something that’s taken care of you for 2000 plus miles.
Truck/Equipment: A -
This truck was great. Yea, we had the tire issue, but we actually saw that as a savior for our car tire. It was great to handle, I’d love to see better gas milage, there was the lack of washer fluid, but I believe anyone with needs for this size vehicle/space will find this the perfect vehicle for their needs. I’m very pleased with this truck.
Overall Grade: A -
Overall, we agreed that an A – gives the best review of our experience. We’d love to go with the full A, but we can’t ignore the few things that did happen, or we’d be lying to you. However, with great confidence, we can recommend that you consider and use a Penske Truck for your rental needs. Take on your part the choosing of the location, understand that things can and do happen, but this company does work to provide a safe piece of equipment and excellent customer service. Without question, our next rental will be a Penske Truck.
