Parents Magazine names Fort De Soto Nation’s Best Family Beach

St. Petersburg/Clearwater’sFort De Soto Park was named America’s Best Family Beach by Parents Magazine. With similar rankings from Dr. Beach in 2005 and TripAdvisor in 2008 & ’09, this beautiful county park at the southern tip of the St Pete/Clearwater area captured the top honors for the 2011 list.
The Parents Magazine issue hit the newsstands in June, but as summer moves on, a family trip to Fort De Soto seems the perfect getaway.

With an average 2.7 million visitors annually, Fort De Soto is a large county park with plenty of options for everyone. From kayaking to the dog park and beach, the actual Fort De Soto to beach front and more, this is a lovely beach on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
