Prince William is taking his fairytale bride into the royal family and setting the stage for the future of the British Monarchy. Like his parents, the late Diana, Princess of Wales and Prince Charles, this wedding day is steeped in hope, joy, promise and dreams coming true.
Sadly, that marriage of the Prince and Princess of Wales ended with sadness, but they brought into the world two terrific young men who’ve already brought a new energy, hope and promise for a generations old tradition. So too have hope been raised in the wake of this young couple.
They’ve not settled for the traditions that bound Charles and Diana into a sure-failure, but are the hope – as all marriage should be – that lessons can be learned, two people can work as a team, and marriage can be the foundation of a family.
So many brides dream of being a princess on their wedding day, and while most will not walk the stories aisle of an historic cathedral, they will still carry the eyes of all upon them, they’ll walk to the arms of the man they promise to share every day with, they stand before their friends and family and promise their love.
And in this wonderful new day and age, “non-traditional” couples, such as gay couples, can marry, commit and make those same promises. For marriage after all is two people who promise themselves to one another, to be partners, to walk through life together, to form a foundation.
So whatever kind of marriage – commitment – ceremony – or party you think a wedding and wedding day are all about, here are just a few ideas in Florida to get you started.
