The SeaWorld family of experts is stepping forward to help the most innocent victims of the recent Gulf oil spill; the marine and bird life that call the Gulf of Mexico home.

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, including the SeaWorld parks in Orlando, San Antonio and San Diego, have pledged their expertise, facilities, manpower and resources to aid the animals and birds whose lives and environment have been so dangerously touched.

SeaWorld’s animal rescue teams have the special and particular expertise required of such situations. Able to handle the care and treatment of oiled animals, Sea World’s team will be able to provide the cleaning, care and rehabilitation that is needed in such situations, helping save these animals and return them to their natural environment.

All of the SeaWorld parks rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of ill, orphaned and injured marine mammals each year, with more than 1,000 helped in just the first four months of 2010.

In fact, its this year round response and efforts put forth by the SeaWorld parks and staff that has given them the knowledge and training to be able to react and help in high level, emergency situations such as what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico.

In the video, Dr. Chris Dold, Veterinarian from SeaWorld Orlando, speaks about the efforts that Sea World will put firth to help the marine mammals and birds at this time. Footage of the animals within the video is of animals affected by oil spills in the past several years, rescued and rehabilitated by SeaWorld.

Thank you to SeaWorld for providing the video footage provided here.
