Orlando Harley-Davidson provides sales, service, rentals and list of great Florida motorcycle rides
Regular readers know the dream Assistant Laura & I share of learning to ride motorcycles and hit the highways to see our destinations from the back of a bike. You’ll also likely know that Harley-Davidson is our bike-ownership of choice – though out of the budgetary reach at present.
We’re talking about getting our bike training, then taking up riding via rentals for awhile – perhaps a dream come true in 2011.
In the mean time, Orlando Harley-Davidson is making a Florida bike-away possible for those of you who are motorcycle riders, own, rent or dream as we do.
And based here in the Sunshine State, offer up a range of rides for travelers & bikers a like to enjoy – Orlando H-D a fine & central starting point – that will take you throughout this amazing state.
Everyone who rides – or dreams of it – gets its about the freedom, adventure and cruising to places that captivate the soul. Florida – home to Mickey & Harry, Shamu & oranges – is a place ideal for hitting the road and discovering what’s around the next bend. Imagine a deserted beach, a blast at a theme park, a luscious new restaurant, a fun side-of-the-road spot.
With subtropical weather, sunny skies, a range of environs and so many places to discover and explore is it any wonder that one can wander on a bike and find so much to do here?
Orlando Harley-Davidson, Orlando
Set along highway 4 just Southeast of Orlando, the dealership is in an ideal location. Fly into Orlando and visit the local attractions – and/or jump right into it and stop at Orlando H-D for your trip. Offering sales & rentals one can find the bike they need for the trip they desire. Need to learn? They do that here as well.
This is a big dealership – one of a few owned by this group in the area – and offers up a wide selection of bikes. New & used are everywhere you turn, with rentals also an option. Assistant Laura & I were overwhelmed by the choices , picking out our dream started bikes quickly (the Sportster Super Low is an awesome bike & we look good astride! If I do say so myself).
Service is also offered here. *Other area stores include Celebration/Kissimmee area on 192 with a smaller selection of bikes and service. Downtown Disney also has an H-D offered by Orlando H-D which only offers apparel and the like, no bikes. Other sites can be found on their site.

Set out for Florida
Along with their bikes and service, Orlando H-D has the ability to help you plan or locate rides around the state. They’ve even printed a small brochure with the information, right down to what turn, where after how many miles and where you can end up. It’s a great little resource to get you started.
Pick one up when you visit, but do bring a map along with as well. I recently reviewed the excellent motorcycle travel guide by new friend Gary McKechnie, Great American Motorcycle Tours, and highly recommend it as a travel suggestion & companion for motorcycle lovers.
Florida is made up of a few well placed highways, set up to get you where you need to be quickly. Tollways here are a bit on the high side of cost – we’re from Chicago and were shocked by the amount, while others don’t seem to care. It’s actually a very easy state to get around.
Yet don’t overlook the byways, back-roads and rural hideaways to get you where you want to go. This is a state that offers a lot of beauty for the buck, while getting you into the heart of what you want to do.
Hey, and I love that “sea to shining sea” element here.

Just a couple suggestions to help you get started, then check in with Orlando H-D to see what they’ve got in store – or in the store – for you to try out. Happy Harley (or other motorcycle type) highways.
